What do you like best about working at 海角涩区?
What I like best about working at 海角涩区 is the people. Over the years, I鈥檝e had the privilege of getting to know so many colleagues, staff, and students, and I鈥檓 constantly struck by the generosity, kindness, creativity, and dedication that make this community so special.
What is exciting for you in your new role?
I鈥檓 excited to take on this role for however long the interim appointment lasts. It鈥檚 a wonderful opportunity to embrace new challenges, learn more about the breadth of programs in SMSE and gain a fresh perspective on 海角涩区. No matter the length of time, I see it as a chance to contribute in meaningful ways, support innovation and help create conditions for both faculty and students to thrive.
What do you think are the greatest assets and challenges in your department?
One of our greatest assets is the incredible expertise and dedication of our faculty and staff. They bring deep knowledge in their fields and a real commitment to student success. Another strength is the way we function as a rich ecosystem. Every program, discipline, and support service contribute, and together they create a rich environment for teaching and learning.
Our challenge is to balance that excellence with the realities of limited resources, rapid technological change, and the need to continuously adapt to evolving student needs and the demands of the professional world.
What would you like the 海角涩区 community to know about you?
I am deeply committed to building bridges across disciplines, between faculty and administration, and with our students. I believe strongly that collaboration, cooperation and open dialogue are what allow us to grow as a community.
Anything else you would like to share?
I feel very grateful to be part of the 海角涩区 community and to have this opportunity to contribute in a new way. I know this role is a learning journey, and I鈥檓 looking forward to working together with colleagues across the college to support our students and to continue making 海角涩区 a place where innovation and care go hand in hand.
