Luc St-Germain is Coordinator of Building Maintenance

Luc St-Germain joined 海角涩区 as Coordinator of Building Maintenance in November. He succeeds V茅ronique Paris on the Facilities Management team.

鈥淚 have worked for 30 years in downtown Montreal in various buildings in the private sector. I鈥檓 pleased to now bring my experience to the public education sector,鈥 Luc said.

鈥淏eing around students and part of 海角涩区鈥檚 dynamic community makes me feel like I鈥檓 18 years old again, which is great!鈥 Luc said.

In his role at 海角涩区, Luc is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of聽 heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. He also manages and supervises the various maintenance contracts. Lastly, Luc is the point person for emergencies, such as power failure, flooding or major disruption to operations.

He holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Industrial Relations from Universit茅 de Montr茅al and graduated from C茅gep du Vieux-Montr茅al in Metallurgy Technology (Welding option).

Mitchell Rae Yang is the new Director of the 海角涩区 Foundation

Nadine Paree is new manager of Admissions & Records

Nadine Paree joined 海角涩区 as Manager of Admissions and Records on May 8. She replaces Laura Paterson, who has retired.

Nadine is a former 海角涩区 student who remembers spending many hours in the TV production studio during her time in Creative Arts. Her studies also include Human Resources Management at McGill University. Most recently, Nadine worked as School Organization Technician at Villa Maria College.

鈥淲e are delighted to have Nadine as a new addition to the Academic Systems team,鈥 says Julie Brosseau, Associate Dean of Academic Systems. 鈥淏ig shoes to fill, but we are confident that she will be able to make her way and manage with brio the team of Admission and Records.鈥


In memoriam Eugeniusz Zamorski

We regret to inform you that retired faculty member Eugeniusz Zamorski passed away on June 6.

Funeral and viewing for Fr茅d茅ric Bastien is June 4

On May 17, all 海角涩区 employees were informed of the sad and untimely passing on May 16 of our colleague Fr茅d茅ric Bastien, faculty member of the History Department since January 2007.

In memoriam Doug Rollins

We regret to inform you that Doug Rollins passed away on April 26. Doug was one of the pioneering members of the Arts Sector of Lafontaine Campus in 1973. He taught English and Humanities courses, among them West Indian Literature and Jazz Listening.

He served on the Senate for many years. He played with the Blue Devils, the 海角涩区 faculty jazz band, helping to organize their annual fundraiser concert for the 海角涩区 Teachers鈥 Union scholarship fund that sent women to study engineering at 脡cole Polytechnique (following the 1989 tragedy there). He was also instrumental in the founding of the 海角涩区 Blue Ring Society.

From 1997 to 2000, Doug and his wife Jill, an occasional Cont. Ed. teacher at 海角涩区, lived and taught in Singapore. Upon their return, Doug rounded out his 海角涩区 life teaching Cont. Ed. in the early 2000's.

Brid NicNiocaill is new Associate Dean of SMSE

We are pleased to inform you of the appointment of Brid NicNiocaill in the position of Associate Dean of Science, Medical Studies and Engineering. Her first day in the new role was May 1. Under the supervision of Dean Maxwell Jones, Brid will be working alongside Jonathon Sumner, Associate Dean of Science, Medical Studies and Engineering.

Brid has been part of the 海角涩区 Community as Faculty since 2010. She has taught a range of courses in different programs including science, professional medical programs and social science and was the Biology department chair and co-chair for 6 years.鈥

"Brid has been a dedicated member of SMSE for many years, and we鈥檙e very excited to welcome her to a new role as Associate Dean," Max said.


New Coordinator of Finance

March 8th, 2023

Angela Pomponi began her new role as Coordinator of Finance on Feb. 20. A Chartered Professional Accountant, Angela brings over two decades of experience to 海角涩区, including her most recent position as the Manager of Financial Resources with the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l'ile-de-Montreal.

In her new role, Angela will be responsible for the conception, establishment and maintenance of financial procedures and schedules of activities in the areas of invoicing and student fees, accounts receivable, accounts payable, research grant reporting and treasury operations.
