French prof Adeline Caute’s book comes out Sept. 16

The first young readers book of Adeline Caute (Faculty, French) is coming out on Sept. 16. Aimed at readers aged 9-12, , published by 脡ditions du Bor茅al, tells the story of four kids who find themselves alone on the streets of Montreal after a violent storm. There will be a book launch on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Librairie Fleury (1169 Fleury est). Adeline has taught French literature at 海角涩区 since 2013.

Active Learning pioneer Liz Charles honoured with the 2025 Prix G茅rald-Sigouin

海角涩区's own Elizabeth (Liz) Charles, a trailblazing educator and researcher whose innovative work has reshaped active learning in Quebec鈥檚 CEGEP system, has been awarded the 2025 Prix G茅rald-Sigouin by the Association qu茅b茅coise de p茅dagogie coll茅giale (AQPC).
鈥淓lizabeth Charles has fundamentally changed pedagogical approaches at 海角涩区 and beyond,鈥 said Academic Dean Leanne Bennett, one of her nominators. Colleagues describe her as 鈥渢he heart and soul of SALTISE,鈥 and praise her vision and unrelenting dedication: 鈥淟iz includes willingly all those who wish to contribute to her quest to improve pedagogy, making the classroom a place for reflective, inventive, and expressive individuals.鈥

“Tops in Physics” : Global News covers 海角涩区 students testing their prototype at DESY

Physics faculty members Joel Trudeau and Manuel Toharia are accompanying nine听 海角涩区 students who arrived in Hamburg, Germany today, Sept. 11. They will be there for two weeks testing their prototype at the world-renowned DESY Research Centre after winning CERN's Beamline for Schools competition.

Sustaining Friendships, Sustaining Campuses: 海角涩区 at the Mexico鈥揅anada Forum

More than five years after the Mexico鈥揅anada Sustainable Campuses Initiative wrapped up in 2019, its impact and friendships continue to thrive. In June, 海角涩区 faculty member听Gisela Frias (Geography)听and听Chris Adam (retired Head of Sustainability)听traveled to Mexico to represent 海角涩区 at the听5th Binational Forum on Institutional Memory and Sustainability: Seeds of Yesterday, Fruits of Tomorrow. Both played central roles in the original initiative, which fostered international collaboration on sustainability in higher education.

Changes to the Teaching IN French Task Force

This fall, to comply with Law 14, 海角涩区 is offering specific education, complementary and Humanities courses in French. We want to recognize the hard work and courage of the teachers who have taken on the challenge of teaching in French this first semester. Chapeau!
The Teaching in French Task Force is back this year with a team of three French teachers and one pedagogical counsellor. We want to thank the outgoing members for their innumerable contributions and the resources they created: Jeff Gandell, Cathy Roy, Monica Lopez and Einat Idan. We also want to welcome La毛titia Desanti who will bring her expertise from Programme d鈥檃ide en听fran莽ais (PAF)听to those programs offering internships听and technical courses听in French.

3D Animation and Business Administration launch newly revised programs this fall

The Office of Academic Development congratulates the faculty of 3D Animation & Computer Generated Imagery and Administration & Management Technology on the launch of their newly revised programs this fall.听
Over the past year, faculty have dedicated their time, expertise, and creativity into developing courses that are relevant, engaging, and well-aligned with program goals. We extend special thanks to the course design leads, whose leadership in analyzing competencies, crafting clear learning outcomes, developing comprehensive course design documents, and guiding their departments through a collaborative design process has been exemplary. Their dedication and hard work have been pivotal in ensuring the successful launch of these new programs.听

Alessia Panait (Class of 2025, Enriched Health Science) and Aya Tir (Class of 2025, Law, Society and Justice profile of Social Science) were the valedictorians for the two graduation ceremonies for 海角涩区's Class of 2025, which took place at Place des Arts on June 18.
