STM Strike—Sept. 22 – Oct. 5, 2025

STM maintenance workers are going on strike from Monday, Sept. 22, to Sunday, Oct. 5. This will impact all bus and metro services in Montreal during that period. Essential service will be provided. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, .

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day)

The College has a wide range of activities planned in the days leading up to Sept. 30. The entire community is encouraged to participate, engage and learn more about the Indigenous peoples of Canada, the legacy of colonization and the steps still needed towards reconciliation across our country and within the º£½ÇÉ¬Çø community.

Beginning on Sept. 22, º£½ÇÉ¬Çøâ€™s floodlights on De Maisonneuve Boulevard will cast an orange light to honour children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. FREE Zumba, Kickboxing and Kung Fu classes for employees!

Campus Recreation runs until Dec. 1 and is free for employees as part of the Well-being for all priority. There is still space to join the new Zumba class on Mondays from 6 PM to 7 PM and Kickboxing and Kung Fu on Wednesdays  from 6 PM to 7 PM.

Registration still open for variety of fun & FREE CTD courses 

º£½ÇÉ¬Çø’s CTD offers a wide range of non-credit courses. Current º£½ÇÉ¬Çø employees can take courses for FREE provided they have at least six months of service and they must come to the counter at 2H.1 to register.  Employees must attend at least 80 per cent of the course to benefit from the free registration. Open to members of the public; 20% off for current º£½ÇÉ¬Çø students, discounts available for retirees, former employees and seniors. Come learn a new language or skill! Two evenings for Open House: Oct. 14 and 16

There will be two evening events for º£½ÇÉ¬Çø’s  Fall 2025 Open House . The first is Tuesday, Oct. 14  from 4 to 8 PM and it will feature all programs/profiles within the Science, Medical Studies & Engineering sector. The second is Thursday, Oct. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. and it will feature all programs/profiles within the Social Science and Business Technologies and Creative and Applied Arts sectors. Spread the word!

This week: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Step into the world of mystery and discovery with º£½ÇÉ¬Çø Theatre’s upcoming production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. This award-winning play by Simon Stephens, directed by Jonathan Monro, will be performed by second-year students.

Library washrooms closed for renovations

Please note that starting on Thursday, Sept. 18, the library washrooms will be closed to undergo renovation. This project is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the library facilities, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant environment for all.

The nearest washrooms available are the 5E washrooms, located in the hallway facing the library’s 5C.1 entrance. A second option is available down the hallway in the 5A and 5B wings. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Bike workshop Sept. 23

Just in time for the STM strike, Mechanical Engineering Technology, the Office of Sustainability and CYCLE 7 Bike co-op will be running a bike repair workshop for employees and students on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 12 PM to 3 PM in the Gazebo in Parking Lot 1 (toward the Wood side of the campus). Rain date is same time and place on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Join DAC to have more fun at work

A great way to socialize with fellow faculty and employees is to join the º£½ÇÉ¬Çø Activity Club, or DAC. Once a month, a social activity will be organized so you can meet up with your colleagues and people you would not otherwise get a chance to spend time with. Activities include on-campus things like lunches, afternoon coffee breaks, 5 à 7s, trivia, and off-campus things like bowling, etc.

Kim Vose Jones: Lifeboat: An Unnatural History exhibit at Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery

A fantastical journey inspired by natural history tableaux and dioramas, where animal forms provoke a wide range of social, political, ethical, and cultural issues.

When researching her family genealogy, Kim Vose Jones discovered her ancestor Ann Dodin arrived in Quebec in 1669, along with dozens of other young French girls commonly known as the Filles du Roi—shipped to the New World in order to assist in the colonial project of populating the land with French settlers.

Exhibition runs until Oct. 18

Badminton—open to all

There will be badminton in the Tony Proudfoot Gyms, happening mostly on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. It is open to anyone from the community or outside. The cost is $15 per player, and you must come with your own equipment.
